Forbidden Thoughts

Human beings are animals, though we don't like to talk about it.
Much of our behavior is just that.

We may retain a biological imperative for land as basic as the
territorial imperative openly displayed by other animals, despite
our vaunted rationality.

Geese, ducks, swans and deer are now considered in our way; pheasants, cougar, wolf, hawks and songbirds are going; trees and flowers going, because the land they were created for is being populated by human beings -- rampantly.

We need limits on human sprawl, and we need them now.

Wildlife and green space have become, in effect, modern day Indians, this time mute and without defense.
